when I think back at all the crap I learned in high school . . .
I have never heard a plea for important philosophical thinking expressed this well by a high school student (or college student) ever. That is what a good thinker should be like when he or she is young. This, by the way, is what his idiot principal sounds like. (hat tip Metafilter.)

this kid sounds like someone we would have hung out with in high school
I wish that I had learned lots of useless crap in high school. unfortunatly i went to Orthodox Yeshivas where I didnt even get do that.
This sounds like the type of kid I wish I had in my high school, though like you, I would have settled for just learning something.
